Chronic Pain

Our minds and bodies are inextricably linked. Sometimes, if an emotion is too painful for the conscious mind to process, it shows up in the body as chronic pain that is not explainable by any structural damage to the body. This is called neural circuit pain, and it is highly treatable through therapy.

If you experience:

  • Pain that is activated by certain physical locations, people. situations, or times of day, and/or...

  • Pain that moves around your body, and/or...

  • Have been diagnosed with certain chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, POTS, IBS, or have been told that diagnosis is inconclusive, and/or....

  • Experienced difficult childhood experiences, and/or...

  • Identify as a people pleaser

...you may be experiencing neuroplastic pain.

Simply put, pain is a danger signal that the brain can activate in response to unwanted thoughts and emotions, not just damage to the body.

I can help you experience relief through:

  • Providing psychoeducation around the neuroscience of pain (a tool proven to reduce pain in itself)

  • Providing simple tools to teach your brain safety, thereby turning down your pain

  • Helping you processing your feared emotions in a safe and nonjudgemental environment

I know what it's like to go to doctor after doctor, experience treatment after treatment that doesn't bring any relief. It is draining, demoralizing, and takes a toll on our mental health. Not only do I have my own experience with pain, but I am certified to treat chronic pain through completion of the Freedom from Chronic Pain Practitioner Training with Dr. Howard Schubiner, one of the leading experts in this field. Reach out to me, and let's see if we can help you find relief.
